WHAT IF

all our thoughts

were loving? . . .

consider the possibility

Mel's Blog For Writing + News + Loving Thoughts + Love Actions

Collaborations for the reclamation of the lands we love are under way across the south land and the great state of California. The necessary work of community care, cultivating the conditions for reconnection, healing, giving back what was stolen, asking for forgiveness and atonement by way of reparations, good policies and harmony with the earth and it's many inter-relational ecosystems.

Special thanks to Lázaro Arvizu, Tongva culture bearer, for his vision, leadership, sharing of his gifts, wisdom and time on setting the path forward. Thanks to The BirdHouse for introducing us to these land back movements and its stewards. Thanks for the gracious guidance to continue on the biophilic path as we listen with hearts open of how we may best be of service to the plans of our native leaders, nature's call and the whispers on the wind for our highest good on earth.

It's true. We know a very little about a lot of things, and are endlessly curious and keep showing up for our earth, for the plants, for biophilia, for each other, for the stories to heal and grow our consciousness, and for the arts and ecology within each of us, verdant land and spirit for new ways of being, without answers, in support of the original stewards of the lands we love.

Yes. It requires doing the work, with Cities, Counties, State and Federal, it involves shifts in thinking, to return, repair and restore our lands, air and sea. Our hearts cry out for new loving systems while we witness what hasn't worked, old ideas falling into obsolescence. It might be easy to point blame, at Corporations, lobbyists, developers, neighbors, this person, or the other person. But, life, what is most alive, requires more resilience, it requires loving action, less knowing and more experiencing the necessary work to move through. AND, it is on us all to expect more.

We joined our dear land charmer, Indy Rishi, a strategic systemic metamorphosis movement builder for farmers, teachers and healers in one of his beautiful community events to uplift, grow and serve our urban neighborhoods at his native plant labyrinth build out offering at the Lopez Urban Garden in Pomona.

Just beyond this tree planted in the last century we set about building a native plant labyrinth on a patch of dirt at the far east corner of the Lopez Urban Farm.

GOTTA BE STARTING SOMETHING

Under the stewardship of Mama Tree Farms Abudu Asaase  he had designed a labyrinth with native plants donated for the offering. The community came together to clear the land, dig the holes and follow the plant plan for this sacred symbol to bring healing to this space and place in southern California. We learned native plants are a beginning. Tending to the garden with love, while listening to nature to the wisdom keepers of land, soil, air and waters is a beginning. Growing in collective pathways for each other and the possibilities for nature's peace and prosperity.

What's good for our land, air and sea is good for all of us. Indigenous communities are returning nature's grace, reclaiming knowledge destroyed through traumas of poison, destruction, murder and remembering the necessary work for revitalization of the land.

Enter the sacredness of your truest home, that space where love and forgiveness meets an open heart becoming a soulful force of nature. Become today someone who is full and rich and free of the past judgments and dramas and struggles.

INSPIRING LOCAL COMMUNITY GARDENS

HAVE A VISION FOR THE WORK YOU ARE HERE TO DO

Give yourself to what brings you most alive. Tend to things that bring you joy. Live in the light of all you are and enjoy communion with your inner power.

For US, we don't know what we don't know. We have no solutions, other than to listen to your heart, take the loving action you know needs to be done.

We take steps in the direction of our all systems love practices everyday. We develop stories from a healed, whole, loving point of view. We focus on local connection, we shop from women owned businesses. We build economies, collectively in collaboration and harmony. We engage in permaculture, community care, mutual aid, pickin' kitchens with the Hollywood Orchard, urban ecosystem restoration practices. We participate in regenerative agriculture. We tend to spaces in need of soil/soul regeneration. We clean up areas flooded with toxins, left barren, dirty and utilize what we have learned about native plants, species and water flow.

Andiamo.
