Collaborations for the reclamation of the lands we love are underway across southern California. Community care is essential. It involves cultivating connections, healing, and giving back what was stolen. Asking for forgiveness and atonement through reparations and good policies is part of the process. We strive for harmony with the earth and its many interconnected ecosystems.
Gratitude for Leadership
Special thanks to Lázaro Arvizu, a Tongva culture bearer. His vision and leadership have set a path forward. We appreciate The BirdHouse for introducing us to land back movements and their stewards. Their gracious guidance helps us stay on the biophilic path. We aspire to serve our native leaders, listen to nature’s call, and heed the whispers of the wind for our highest good on earth.
It’s true. We know very little about many things. Yet, our curiosity drives us. We show up for our earth, for the plants, for biophilia, and for each other. We support stories that heal our consciousness. We nurture the arts and ecology within us, connecting to verdant land and spirit. It’s about discovering new ways to exist without predefined answers. We do this in support of the original stewards of the lands we cherish.
Yes. It requires concerted effort. We need collaboration with cities, counties, states, and federal bodies. This involves a mindset shift to return, repair, and restore our lands, air, and sea. Our hearts cry for new, loving systems as we witness outdated ideas falling into obsolescence. It might be easy to assign blame to corporations, lobbyists, or other individuals. But life demands more resilience. It requires loving action, less knowing, and more experiencing to move forward. Ultimately, it is up to all of us to expect more.
Growing Together for Healing
Recently, we joined our dear land charmer, Indy Rishi. He is a builder of strategic systemic metamorphosis for farmers, teachers, and healers. In one of his community events, we uplift each other and serve our urban neighborhoods. We participated in his native plant labyrinth build at the Lopez Urban Garden in Pomona.
Just beyond a tree planted in the last century, we began creating a native plant labyrinth in a patch of dirt at the far east corner of Lopez Urban Farm.
Under the stewardship of Mama Tree Farms’ Abudu Asaase, a labyrinth was designed with native plants donated for this offering. The community united to clear the land, dig holes, and follow the planting plan. This sacred symbol aims to bring healing to Southern California. We recognized that native plants are only a beginning. Tending to the garden with love while listening to the wisdom of land, soil, air, and water is just the start.
Growing a collective space fosters possibilities for nature's peace and prosperity. What's beneficial for our land, air, and sea benefits all of us. Indigenous communities are restoring nature's grace. They are reclaiming knowledge lost through trauma, destruction, and neglect.
Embracing Our True Home
Enter the sacredness of your truest home. It is the space where love and forgiveness meet. An open heart can become a soulful force of nature. Today, strive to be someone rich in spirit and free from past judgments.
Have a Vision for Your Work
Give yourself fully to what brings you alive. Tend to things that spark joy within you. Live in the light of who you are. Enjoy communion with your inner strength.
For many of us, we don’t know what we don’t know. We have no definitive solutions, only the call to listen to our hearts. Taking the needed loving action is essential.
We make strides toward our all-systems love practices every day. We develop stories from a healed, loving perspective. Local connections are vital. We purchase from women-owned businesses. Our communities build economies in collaboration and harmony.
Engaging in permaculture, community care, and mutual aid activities is part of our commitment. We participate in initiatives like the Hollywood Orchard, focusing on urban ecosystem restoration practices. Our efforts extend to regenerative agriculture. We tend to spaces in need of soil and soul restoration. We work tirelessly to clean areas tainted by toxins and neglect. With the knowledge gained about native plants, species, and water flow, we can pave the way for a healthier environment.
Andiamo.
