HONOR YOUR COMMITMENTS

How you do one thing is how you do everything. The happiness quotient in life is in direct relationship to the promises and commitments you make and break with yourself. What do you want more of? Take a breath. Listen. Breathe in peace. Breathe out love. Go deeper still. Take another deep breath. Now. What are you committed to? Do they match. What one commitment could you keep that would align you with your needs. Practice this and you reconnect to your deepest commitment for this lifetime.

AWAKEN: LOVE IS REVEALED THROUGH WHAT WE SHOW UP FOR

Honoring your commitment is the ultimate embodiment of loving yourself. Just before the pandemic we began making medicine at our community garden, connecting with our neighbors and giving over of our wisdom and experiences to the collective. Harvesting plants from the neighborhood we slowly grew to creating hyrosols. We used the rich rooted grace of Vetiver. Grateful to have grown this into a deep delicious offering for the foundational health and wellness of our community. Get involved, find out ways you can create connection and grow in healing our lands.

Negative outcomes reveal unconscious commitments. Loving is a commitment to the embodiment of our values. What are you for. Know what you are committed to. Honor your word. Allow the activism of your loving commitments to raise your vibration and deliver loving outcomes. Show up when you commit to something. It is in this regular practice you reveal the fullness of your purpose, the realization of your dreams and the love that heals, amplifies and radiates throughout the universe.

Writers love to write. We also love company while we write. My loving writing group meets on Sundays. We write in 20 minute sprints. We encourage each other. We uplift what is wonderful about each others work and we are inspired, over and over, word by word. It is the love inherent in collective work think. Here's a little picture from our writers group with Marcela Grad reading her beautiful poetry. Many works of great heart have been birthed through this group. It is a merry group of talents, artists and storytellers.

May you forgive yourself and those who you feel have wronged you.




WISDOM

From the wonderful Mary Oliver, whose six decades of writing in nature, through her walks of self compassion inexorably changed the poetic traditions. She said when asked about her work schedule and how the muse struck her. "From 10:00 to 11:30 AM I'm a poet. From 12:00 - 1:00 PM I'm a dog walker. I learned early on to work a schedule and be fully committed to the effort. I figured God has to know where to show up and deliver the good stuff." Mary Oliver knew the way grace shows up, you set the time and you keep showing up. In this practice the work will be done. There are few whose work feels like a warm hug of cold truth and warm compassion.


There are so many repeated lines of hers, she is beloved and I have many of her verses dancing through my thoughts. These four lines gave me understanding and closure helping with my understanding.

Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.

Enough is enough. The church is and has been the leading cause of trauma in the lives of over 216,000 Americans. We are still owed an apology, atonement and a full reparation and redistribution of what they stole from the earth. One of the clearest paths to shift would be for the Church to turn around their anti-God action across time and space. Folks deserve more.

Allow your deepest listening to guide you, allow the whispers of spirit to be your light, allow the quiet beauty of all that you are emerge into divine love and wisdom.

AWAKEN: BE WILLING TO PLAY. LAUGH. BE IN YOUR JOY

I heard a story about a kid who was born without an ear. The Doctors made him a new one through the use of his rib. It gave him the balance of normalcy. Surgical technology had given him two ears cosmetically, but he was not able to hear. He grew up to be a Broadway Musical star, while nothing stopped him, he found himself nervous onstage with his deficit in hearing. He moved through it thinking 'It is what it is.' He learned to listen to his intuition, to all the 'extra' cues, to support his sensory experience, to fill out the details, to allow the picture to fill itself out. He learned to listen for what he couldn't hear.


Going into the world in its essential forms beyond the recording devices, the illusions of media, the advertising, the signs, get very clear in sweet clarity and allow that which is beyond surroundings and circumstance to flourish, attune and activate.


Address what you need to in the present. Breathe in peace, breath out love. Plan for the future. Let it all go. Work from the heart. Practice. Practice. Practice. Intuition is a daily care, work and commitment to listen to the still small voice, your inner landscape that connects to the matrix of all that is, despite the noise and chaos on any given day, it is a steady tending to the garden, the constant and chronic practice of being willing to act with love on what you know to be true. And when it all gets to be too much, as it sometimes does, perhaps tune into the Hallmark Channel, They Out-Che-ere making the funnies, the warm and fuzzies and detecting a world of crime. This upcoming project got me in my musical "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match, find me a find, catch me a catch...' Comedy of the competing Deli owners. Give a channel it's due. Hail, hallmark Channel.

Enjoy what is most alive. Most loving and have some fun.

REMEMBER: TO TEACH IS TO DEMONSTRATE

It is through our actions that folks learn. In this witnessing of what folks do, we get beyond what folks say and our thoughts about that, we reveal more through what a person does than what they say. Keeping in mind for the NEXT 100 days is itself an embodiment of decolonizing your thoughts, using thought medicine, affirmations to encourage a shift in your POV, to decenter that which is so firmly engrained in your psyche as to not be questioned. The lies live in our beliefs, for the NEXT 100 Days consider the possibilities. When you want to think about war, feel peace. When you want to blame Trump, take loving action by registering someone to vote, calling your local representative and start something loving as a way for a shift. These are the fundamentals of this form of thought medicine that heals your perceptions. The words of affirmation that shift the reality you experience and it all begins with the simple practice of getting still and listening to your intuition.

Taqwa is a state of awareness and alertness to the holy instant, the possibility of divinely guided actions and it’s a lot of fun to say, used in Sufism and found throughout the world.

Enough is enough. Women are demanding folks leave our bodies, our decisions and our hearts alone. The death of Mahsa Amini, is a bell toll for loving action. Woman are receptive by nature. We rise today to realize our inner power and allow it to flourish.


No matter what you think, what corner of the world, the time, place or year, whether or not women wear a hijab, or get an abortion, or drive a car, wear pants, marry, birth a child, choose to be w/ a man or woman isn’t up for debate and up to no one but the woman herself. We are autonomous human beings, we’re half the population, who have given birth to the entire population. To men and lawmakers, we say and we have been saying forever: Fuck Off. We expect more. If you are not with us you are against us.
